Dallas E. “Smiley” Smeltser, 90, of Alexander, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021, in Kahoka, Missouri.
Dallas was born on September 30, 1931, in Alexandria, Missouri, the son of Bert B. and Mable (Symmonds) Smeltser. On December 31, 1953, he was united in marriage to Barbara A. Winn in Holly Springs, Mississippi. She survives. Dallas was employed for many years crafting barrel staves.
Dallas is survived by his wife Barbara Smeltser of Alexandria, Missouri; four children: Jamie (Pheng) Souxayavong of Sioux City, Iowa, Dallas (Cheryl) Smeltser of Waco, Texas, Tim Smeltser of Alexandria, Missouri, and Scott Smeltser of Wayland, Missouri; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Dallas is preceded in death by his parents; six brothers: Ed, Floyd, Albert, Don, Bill, and Jim Smeltser; and his sister Ruth Reynolds.
