On Thursday, December 23, 2021 at approximately 4:55 p.m. officers of the Hamilton Police Department, assisted by Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies, responded to 851 Front Street in Hamilton, Illinois for a report of a burglary.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that a light blue 2021 Porsche Taycan had been stolen from the residence.  Surrounding law enforcement agencies were notified of the stolen Porsche.

As officers conducted a search of the premises for any suspects an officer with the Nauvoo Police Department observed the stolen vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 96.  The Nauvoo officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the stolen Porsche but it failed to yield, leading to a pursuit.

The driver, suspect, and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified and airlifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

A warrant was sought and issued for the arrest of Jordan M. Vassey of Keokuk, Iowa.  Charges include residential burglary (class 1 felony), burglary (class 2 felony), theft (class 3 felony), and unlawful possession of stolen vehicle (class 2 felony).

Vassey was arrested on the warrant in the evening of December 27, 2021 and is housed at the Hancock County Jail on a $250,000 bond, 10% to apply.
