(RUSCHILL) YALEY

JoAnn (Ruschill) Yaley, 79, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 7:02 a.m. on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.  She was born on September 25, 1942 in Fort Madison, IA to Karl & Marjorie Davey Ruschill.  She graduated from Denmark High School in 1960.  She married Gary Kenneth Yaley, her high school sweetheart, on November 24, 1961 in Denmark, IA.  Shewas a stay at home mom and worked for several different businesses over the years, but retired from Hopkirk & Feightner after 20 years of service in 2006.  JoAnn loved to cook, read, play cards and loved to watch her grandchildren’s activities.  She taught Bible study, worked with the youth and was an Awana leader for 23 years.  She loved the Lord and her desire was for all to come to know Him.

The great evangelist Dwight Moody once said:  “Some day you will read in the papers, ‘D.L. Moody of Northfield is dead.’  Don’t’ believe a word of it!  At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now; I shall have gone up higher, that is all, out of this old clay tenement into a house that is immortal—a body that death cannot touch, that sin cannot taint; a body fashioned like unto His glorious body.  I was born of the flesh in 1837.  I was born of the spirit in 1856.  That which is born of flesh may die.  That which is born of the Spirit will live forever!”

By now you have read that JoAnn Yaley has died. Don’t believe a word of it! She is more alive than she ever has been!  She was born of the flesh in 1942. She was born of the Spirit in 1956. And today, because of Jesus Christ ALONE, she lives with her Savior forever.

JoAnn is survived by: her husband: Gary Yaley of Fort Madison, IA; 1-daughter: Kathy (Lance) Anderson of Canton, MS; 2-sons: Matt (Chris) Yaley of Danville, IA & Mike (Jodi) Yaley of Danville, IA; 1-daughter in law: Betzina Yaley of Sperry, IA; 15-grandchildren; 1-great grandson; 1-sister Dorothy Henson of Dallas City, IL. She was preceded in death by: her parents, 1-son: Kevin Yaley and 2-brothers Donald & Jim Ruschill.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the First Baptist Church, Fort Madison.  A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
