Over the years he has spent time working on issues of Economic Development, the Great River Regional Waste Authority landfill, workforce development, tourism, mental health and the Hotel/Motel tax.   While on the Board the voters approved a number of bond issues that were used to enhance the county.

Over the past year he has worked on getting a county-owned ambulance service up and going in Lee County.

“We have great people who work on the ambulance service and we all can be proud of the service it provides to the citizens of Lee County.”

“Although I’m proud of the effort I put into Lee County government, we had a number of fellow Supervisors working just as hard,  So I do not consider myself the “ lone ranger” but part of a team effort to get things done”, said Larkin.
