Fort Madison Police Report
01/06/22 – 11:27 a.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a burglary in the 2300 block of Avenue M.
01/06/22 – 8:33 p.m. – Fort Madison police cited Austin Corwin, 27, of Fort Madison, in the 1600 block of Avenue H, on a charge of driving while barred.

Lee County Sheriff Report
01/06/22 – 10:50 a.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies responded to a one-vehicle accident on US Hwy. 218 South. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Don Schmidt, 76, of Hudson, was traveling on Hwy. 27 when it left the roadway and slid into a ditch. No injuries or citations were reported.
01/07/22 – 4:46 a.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies responded to a one-vehicle accident on Argyle Road. According to the report, a vehicle being driven by Nathan Lee Land, 29, of Keokuk, was traveling on Argyle Road when a deer entered the road from the shoulder. The driver applied his brakes and swerved to miss the deer, going off the northbound shoulder and then rolling the vehicle onto its top. Medical assistance was denied and the vehicle was towed from the scene. There were no injuries or citations reported.

Hancock County Sheriff Report
12/27/21 – Davia J Doss, age 23, of Macomb, IL was arrested on a McDonough County warrant charging her with Failure to Appear/Failure to Pay on original charges of Speeding. Doss was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date.
12/27/21 – Jordan M Vassey, age 25, of Keokuk, IA was arrested on a Hancock County warrant charging her with Residential Burglary, Theft, Burglary, and Unlawful Possession of Stolen Vehicle. Vassey remains lodged in the Hancock County Jail in lieu of bail awaiting her next court appearance.
12/29/21 – Koral R Grace, age 28, of Carthage, IL was arrested on a Hancock County warrant charging her with Failure to Appear/Failure to Pay on original charges of Criminal Damage to Government Supported Property, Resisting a Peace Officer, and Driving While License Suspended. Grace was released after given referred payments and a future court date.
12/29/21 – James R Love, age 37, of Hamilton, IL was arrested on a Hancock County warrant charging him with Failure to Appear/Failure to Pay on original charges of Domestic Battery. Love was released after given deferred payments and a future court date.
01/02/22 – Joseph R McGowan, age 35, Plymouth, IL was arrested on a Hancock County warrant charging him with Failure to Appear on original charges of Domestic Battery and Driving Under the Influence. McGowen was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date.

01/04/22 - Fort Madison firefighters responded to three medical calls, one lift assist, one false alarm, a railroad tire on fire, one gas smell, and one medical refusal.
