LCEDG adds new administrative assistant

MONTROSE - Carmen Salazar of Fort Madison has joined the Lee County Economic Development Group team, according to a release from LCEDG Monday.

SALAZAR

Salazar is joining Lee County EDG as the new Executive Administrative Assistant and will provide clerical and project management support, manage meeting room schedules, performs recordkeeping, and will oversee office administrative functions. Her responsibilities also include organizing and creating systems to support the implementation and execution of community projects.  

Originally from Vashon, Wash., Salazar relocated to Lee County in 2021 because of family ties to the area. She served in the U.S. Army as a light-wheel vehicle and track mechanic and has a B.S. in Policy, Planning, and Economic Development from Georgia State University.
 
During her time in Atlanta, Ga., she worked with Atlanta Councilwoman Mary Norwood on affordable housing programs for city employees. She is passionate about building Lee County and developing the talent pipeline in her new role.

She currently lives in Fort Madison with her two dogs, Peanut and Snoopy.
