Ruby Phyllis Jones Hallinan, 84, of Keokuk, IA died Thursday, January 13, 2022 at her home.
She was born September 12, 1937 in Keokuk the daughter of James and Verna Marmion Thompson.
On June 29, 1984 Ruby was united in marriage to Leo Hallinan in Clinton, IA. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2010.
She had been employed by Sheller Globe in Keokuk.
Ruby loved the outdoors and especially loved camping and fishing. She was an animal lover and raised canaries, Pekinese, Yorkie, Poodle and Peekapoo puppies. Ruby enjoyed crocheting and woodworking. The greatest joy in her life, was the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, her cats and dogs.
She is survived by three daughters, Cindy Harris (Bruce) of Keokuk, Kathy Knox of Keokuk and Pamela Barber (Rich) of Warsaw, IL, seven grandchildren, Harley, Chris, Clara, Jodi, Joe, Jason and Jeremy, many great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by three sisters, Rose Boley of Keokuk, Karen Wright of Keokuk and Joan Humes of Wayland, MO, one brother, Gary Thompson of Keokuk and her special friend, Marie of Keokuk.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, Frank and Rosetta Marmion, two sons, Joe Jones and Ike Jones, two brothers, Jim Thompson and Henry Thompson, two sisters, Ella Mae Cannon and Belva Nye, two grandsons, Eric Deck and Rich Barber III, son-in-law, Bob Knox and two brothers-in-law, Kenny Cannon and Bob Boley.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Gordon Hawkins officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, Wednesday, after 1 p.m., at the funeral home with family meeting with friends from 2-4 p.m.
