Marsha A. Hayes, 68, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

She was born on September 24, 1953 in Keokuk to Ward and Maxine Hackard Bryant.  On August 21, 1971 she married Steven Hayes in Ft. Madison.  Marsha worked for the Ft. Madison School District in the kitchen and retired in 2012 as the head baker and was known to the kids as the “lunch lady”.  She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church.  Marsha enjoyed singing, needle point, caring for people and looking at “The Facebook”.  Most of all her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Hayes of Ft. Madison; one son, James (Pam) Hayes of Ft. Madison; two daughters, Danyle (Robert) Warner of Ft. Madison and Moriah (Joe) Rooney of Ft. Madison; seven grandchildren, Kylie Hayes, Savannah Hayes, Hannah Fountain, Marquel Warner, Aaron “Bubba” Warner, Emorie and Iris Rooney; one sister, Anna Rose Hackett of Bartonville, IL and one brother, Roger (Karen) Bryant of Keokuk.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call after 2 PM on Monday, January 24, 2022 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory where the family will meet with friends from 4-6 PM.  The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Reverend Scott Gruening officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
