Michael Wade Brennan, 59, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 9:50 a.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022 at his home.  He was born on November 12, 1962 in Fort Madison, IA to Wade & Louise Leafgreen Brennan.  He married Amy B. Carver Lubke on September 12, 2008 in Palmyra, MO.  He served in the U.S. Navy (E4) as boiler-technician from November 13, 1979 to December 2, 1983.  He was previously employed at IAAP (American Ordinance) for 29 years and served approximately 20 years as Union Steward for IUOE Local #150.  From 2014 to 2020 he was employed in construction as a Quality Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector, working on several heavy industrial and liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects.  From 2020 to retirement in 2021, he was employed by Silgan Containers as a line mechanic.  He enjoyed studying science, engineering, electrical & instrumentation.  Michael’s hobbies included, fishing, mushroom hunting, camping and spending time with family and friends.  Mike also loved spending time outside in his backyard with a fire going and a beer in his hand and always telling jokes or stories.  Mike was truly an outdoors person and any minute he could spend outside, he was out there.  Mike was true blue collar who always believed he could fix everything himself, whether it was a vehicle that Lindsay caught on fire, blower motor that Hope blew up, or an old Blazer that Mikey had wrecked.  He could fix it all, including the everyday household projects that he and Amy would conquer together.  His laughter and jokes will remain in our hearts and minds forever.

Mike is survived by: his wife: Amy Brennan of Fort Madison, IA; 7-children: Michael (Rachel) Brennan II of Fort Madison, IA, Lindsay (Todd) Davis of Kahoka, MO, Valerie (John) Jackson of Phoenix, AZ, Clayton (Glenda) Baker of Fort Madison, IA, Hope (Chad) Sistern of Keokuk, IA, Casey (Kadence) Lubke of Cheboygan, MI & Kyle (Marissa) Lubke of Leander, TX; 16-grandchildren; his mother: Louise Brennan of Fort Madison, IA; 2-brothers: Tom & William Brennan of Fort Madison, IA and 13-nieces & Nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father and 1-brother, Timothy.

Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2022 with the family to receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Joshua Didier officiating.  Burial will be held at Soldiers’ Circle in Oakland Cemetery.  A memorial has been established to help with Mike’s medical expenses.  Online condolences may be left at the King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory website: www.kinglynk.com.
