Wanita R. Lassmann, 84, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 2:10 AM at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Ft. Madison.

She was born on July 22, 1937 in Columbus Junction, IA to Charlie and Opal Kyte Pentecost.  She married Clifford McGeehon in 1952 and he preceded her in death.  She then married Neal Lassmann on May 3, 1986 and he passed away on January 6, 2020.  Wanita worked production at Midwest Wax Paper for twenty five years.  She was a member of the Montrose Presbyterian Church.  Wanita enjoyed quilting, doing crafts, woodworking, her cats, Louie, Jack and Little Joe and spending time with her family.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis McGeehon of Ft. Madison, William McGeehon of Missouri and Clinton McGeehon of Ft. Madison; one daughter, Nancy Gillette of Ft. Madison; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson Steven and two sisters.

The family will meet with friends from 10 AM until 11 AM on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A graveside service and burial will immediately follow in Montrose Cemetery with Mark Philp officiating.
