Aaron M. Baker, 46, of Nauvoo, Illinois passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, Fort Madison.  He was born June 26, 1975 at Fort Madison, Iowa, a son of Joseph P. Jr. and Carolyn K. (Hofmann) Baker. 

Aaron graduated from the Fort Madison High School in 1993 and enjoyed performing in the high school rodeo, working crew and racing “wild thing” four-cylinder class stock cars, hunting and bowfishing.  He was an officer for Bowfishing Association of Illinois and loved teaching others about the sport.  He had been a truck driver for over 15 years, and most recently worked as a service technician for WIN Propane, Wever, for the past year.  

On June 3, 2017, he married Rhonda McKinney at Monmouth, Illinois.  Aaron’s faith was a big part of his life.  He spent time regularly studying and reading his bible, and recently learning about how to serve in missions work through his church; he had a deep love of God, his church family, his family and friends and especially Rhonda.  

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Baker, of Nauvoo, Illinois; his parents: Joseph P. Jr. and Carolyn K. Baker of Montrose, Iowa; his children, Brandon (Savanna) West, of Berwick, Illinois and Abigail Berg, at home; one granddaughter, Freya Lilly Jo, his siblings, Jo Lyn Shipman, of Gilbert, Arizona and David (Traci) Baker, of Washburn, Iowa, one brother-in-law and sister-in-laws; aunts and uncles, several nieces and nephews,.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John F. Jr. and Beverly Hofmann and Joseph P. Sr. and V. Lorean Baker; father-in-law, Jack Danley and mother-in-law,  Deborah Lyytinen.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Friday, February 4, 2022 at the Harmony Bible Church, 1602 Avenue F, Fort Madison.  Memorial services will be 11:00 am Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Harmony Bible, Fort Madison Campus with Pastor Andrew Wiese, officiating.  A memorial has been established for his family, contributions may be made to Rhonda Baker in c/o of  Barr Memorial Chapel or left at the church during the services.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Aaron Baker family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
