WAYLAND - Freshman Brayden Wyrick had 13 and Alex Sandoval scored 11 in a 67-44 loss to WACO Thursday night.

The Central Lee Hawks fell to 0-19 on the year, but head coach Kritter Hayes said the Hawks haven't loss their spirit as they search for their first win of the year.

"I can't stress enough how proud I am of the fight in our team. We keep finding ways to show improvement from earlier games. You would think it would be hard to stay motivated when the wins haven't come, it's just not the case with our team," Hayes said.

"Our motivation continues to be daily improvement. The little things are starting to take care of the bigger things for our team."

WACO's Hunter Hughes put up 16 in the first half on his way to a game-high 23 points for the Warriors, who had things pretty much in hand early on taking a 41-11 lead into the second half.

The Hawks put up 22 points in the final period with Sandoval hitting on three 3-pointers, while Dante Merschman and Ryan Wilber combining for three more.

Wyrick had 20 points in an 88-43 loss to New London on Tuesday night at Central Lee. Sandoval had seven points and Corbin Pohren had six.
