Peggy Ann Rockhold, age 78, of Lomax, Illinois, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at her home.  She was born September 15, 1943 in Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd “Tuffy” and Elizabeth Nichols Maynard.  On May 7, 1983, she married Henry “Doc” Rockhold in Dallas City, Illinois.

Peggy had been employed at General Electric and Champion Spark Plug in Burlington, and retired from Sheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison. She was an active member of the Grace Bible Church in Dallas City, and served as church hostess for many years.  She enjoyed fishing, shopping, dining out, and spending time with her family.  She truly loved her grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them.

Survivors include her husband, three sons: Kevin (Evie) Worley of Gladstone, IL, Kelly (Grace) Worley of Lomax, IL, Kendall Worley of Burlington, IA, two step sons: Shawn Rockhold and Sam Rockhold, both of Huntsville, AL, ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, one brother: Tom (Melanie) Maynard of Pontoosuc, IL, and one sister: Sonja (Henry) Shipman of Dallas City, IL.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother: Butch Maynard, and three sisters: Dorothy Gilpin, Daisy Bundy, and Marrietta Hnat.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday March 3, 2022 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, IL with Rev. Larry Menschel officiating.  Burial will follow in the Myers Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Banks & Beals.  Memorials have been established for Grace Bible Church of Dallas City and Lee County Hospice.  Please visit Peggy’s obituary at banksandbeals.com to sign the guest book and leave a condolence.
