Andrew Perry Geerdes, 44, of West Point, IA, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 2:27 PM at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics.

He was born on August 5, 1977 in Sibley, IA to Silas and Maxine Bell Geerdes.  Andrew was currently a truck driver.  He loved everything outdoors including hunting, fishing, camping and rodeoing.  Andrew was also a hobby farmer and especially loved longhorns.  His family was most important to him and he loved spending time with his children.

Survivors include two sons, Cody Schneider of Wever and Clayton Geerdes of Donnellson; one daughter, Ashlynn Geerdes of Ottumwa; his parents, Silas and Maxine Geerdes of West Point; one brother, Mick (Bridget) Geerdes of Ft. Madison; his maternal grandmother, Carol Schneider of Ft. Madison; his companion, Shelly Schneider of Donnellson; several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather, Perry Schneider.

Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory and a celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 2-6 PM at Sonny’s Other Side, 325 5th Street, West Point, IA.
