First-ever FM girl wrestlers place at State Pee Wee tourney

FM Wrestling Club brings home three medals from weekend tournament

DES MOINES - The Fort Madison Wrestling Club had 12 wrestlers compete this past weekend at the Iowa Super Pee Wee State Tournament.

Three of the wrestlers, Cameron Mahoney, Soren Schelich, and Jager Fuller all brought home medals from the tournament. Mahoney and Schelich became Fort Madison Wrestling Club’s first females to have placed at the state tournament.

In the Super Pee Wee Division, Jäger Fuller competed at 44 lbs. and made it the the quarter finals where he lost and wrestled back for an 8th-place finish. He recorded three falls on the day.

FULLER

Everett Hennigar competed at 61 lbs. He recorded one technical fall and two falls on the day. He made it to the quarterfinals were he lost and was just two wins shy of placing in the top eight.
Wesley Hellige competed at 70 lbs. and recorded one fall on the day. Finley Pence competed at 50 lbs.
and Kayden Bergquist competed at 52 lbs.

Wrestling in the Pee Wee Division Jaiden Warosh competed at 50 lbs. He recorded one fall and a come-from-behind 6-5 decision the make it to the quarterfinals. He lost in the quarterfinals and was just one win shy of placing in the top eight of his bracket. 
Wyatt Brennan competed at 56 lbs., Austin Nelton competed at 60 lbs.  Jackson Young competed at 80 lbs. and recorded one fall on the day. 

In the girls division, Mahoney competed at 50lbs. She lost her first match and by a close 7-5 decision to the eventual runner-up. She wrestled all the way back to place 3rd recording four falls on the day.
Schelich competed at 50 lbs. She made it to the semifinals where she lost to the eventual state champion. She ended up placing 6th and recorded one fall on the day.
