BY PCC STAFF

FORT MADISON - Potowonok Circle of King’s Daughters promises that Dueling Pianos IMPROMPTUNE will provide a high energy,  fun filled night of entertainment with great food and lots of laughs!!

The fundraiser event is set for April 9, at McAleer Hall with cocktails and dinner at 5:15 p.m. Music begins at 6:15 p.m. Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the door.

The group is very actively involved in serving the Fort Madison Community and surrounding  areas, delivering meals on wheels, and helping senior citizens to maintain their independence. They also do vision screenings at area preschools in Fort Madison and West Point, and assist with kindergarten round-up at Holy Trinity Elementary.

Potowonok Circle of King’s Daughters is a non-denominational Christian service organization. Their creed is “Lend a Hand.”

Education is a priority and the circle funds scholarships to assist women attending college at SCC.

The circle adopts a family or two each year. These families have fallen upon hard times and volunteers help them through it by providing assistance with utilities, food, gas for their vehicles, gifts at Christmas and other needs that may arise during the year.

The group also supports Camp Lookout financially as well as helping with duties and needs that arise throughout the year. Seven underprivileged children were able to go to camp this past summer with support of the King's Daughters.

Every year the project committee researches the needs of the area and directly provides funds or goods to help meet those needs.
In the past we assistance has been provided to:

  • Community Thanksgiving
  • United Way winterization coupons
  • Christmas for Kids
  • Central Park summer band concert
  • Sponsored the FM Area Arts Association Art Camp for Kids
  • Sponsored “Battle of the  Books” at the FMMS
  • Provided money for the Back Pack Ministries Program
  • Purchased equipment for the Autistic Program at the public school and
  • Donated to the Eichacker Community Service Center

Purchased washer and dryer installed in FMHS along with a  supply of detergent for use of students in need.

HOW can you “Lend a hand?” By joining the fun event!
Dueling pianos is the major fundraiser this year and will allow's the group to continue good works in the community. Coffers are very low due to two years of curtailing fundraising activities during the pandemic.

Please consider sponsoring the entertainment at a level of $1000 / $500 / or $250 -and/or purchasing a table for eight for $360. This will ensure that you and your family and friends can sit together.

If you are interested in participating in this great event, please reach out to Kate Lamb at 319-371-5057.  Tickets can be purchased at the Fort Madison Chamber at 614 7th Street.
