Jean Meinhardt, 89, of Donnellson, Iowa, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022 at River Hills Village in Keokuk, Iowa.

Born on September 21, 1932, near Argyle, Iowa, the daughter of Glen O. and Stella M. (Derr) Ware. On June 6, 1949 she married Charles B. Stewart at the home of her parents. They moved to a farm near Anson, Missouri. Together they were the parents of two children, Marilyn Jean and Charles Kent. Her husband preceded her in death on March 8, 1958.

On June 4, 1966 in Farmington, Iowa she married Elden E Frueh. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1975. On January 16, 1999 she married Marlin L. Meinhardt in Donnellson, Iowa. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2005. 

Mrs. Meinhardt was a member of the Zion Mennonite Church. She had served as a youth sponsor, taught Sunday school and helped with Bible school for several years.

A collector of cookbooks, bird figurines, dishes and quilts. She enjoyed her home, yard-work, flowers, cooking and baking. Especially lemon pies because all of her family loved these. She enjoyed spending time with family and being with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren during their activities. Jean also enjoyed helping others.

Jean worked for Central Lee Schools when they first opened the new school, Sheaffer Pen Company, Donnellson Tax Services and Geils Oil and Go Mart, until retiring in the year 2000.

Survivors include one: daughter Marilyn (Marshall) Hulsebus of Donnellson, Iowa; one son: Charles (Nancy) Stewart of Donnellson, Iowa; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren including: Mark (Leslie) Hulsebus, Lauren, Grace, and Benjamin; Mari Anne (Jurgen) Ehler, Blake and Zane; Joni (Jeff) Junkins; Bill (Jenny) Stewart, Kelsie and Cameron; Stacy Stewart, Brayden Jordan; Matthew (Kaley) Hulsebus, Kasen and Stella. Also surviving is one sister: Lois White (Ivan Bunker) of Wever, Iowa and special friends Larry & Carolyn Geils of Branson, Missouri.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, sisters, brother and stepfather Frank Bideaux. A very special great grandson Rhett Marshall Ehler and special great granddaughter Reagan Jean Hulsebus.

The family will meet with friends Monday, March 21, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Schmitz Funeral Home in Donnellson. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Schmitz Funeral Home in Donnellson, with Pastor Mike Bennett officiating.

Burial will be held in the Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington, Iowa.
