LCHD to hold 2nd booster clinic

FORT MADISON – Lee County Health Department (LCHD) will have a 2nd COVID-19 booster clinic on Wednesday, April 6 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at LCHD (#3 John Bennett Drive, Fort Madison). This clinic will be for the Moderna and Pfizer vaccine only. This clinic will be an in-house clinic, not a drive-thru, and appointments are required. COVID-19 vaccine cards will be required at the appointment. Appointments can be made by calling (319)372-5225.
The CDC recommendations are for the following:
- A second booster does of the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine may be administered to individuals 50 years of age and older at least 4 months after receipt of a first booster dose of any authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine;
- A second booster dose of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine may be administered to individuals 12 years of age and older with certain kinds of immunocompromise at least 4 months after receipt of a first booster dose of any authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine. These are people who have undergone solid organ transplantation, or who are living with conditions that are considered to have an equivalent level of immunocompromise;
- A second booster dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine may be administered at least 4 months after the first booster dose of any authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine to individuals 18 years of age and older with the same certain kinds of immunocompromise.
