Mildred Darlene Woods, 93, of Lomax, Illinois, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab in Stronghurst, Illinois. 

Mildred was born February 3, 1929 in Lomax the daughter of Earl and Lydia (Smith) Waterman. She married Kenneth Woods August 18, 1944 in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death one day before their 48th Wedding Anniversary on August 17, 1992.

Mrs. Woods was a member of the Devine Faith Ministry in Lomax. She enjoyed cooking. 

Mildred is survived three daughters: Mary Purvis of Lomax, Betty Foster of Stronghurst and Pauline Sutton of Lomax and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: Ruby Steel of Monmouth and Mary Knockel of DesMoines. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; two children in infancy; one daughter: Martha Woods; one son: Charles Woods and several siblings. 

A visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City. 

A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Crane Cemetery, near Lomax, with her grandson, Frankie Sutton, officiating.
