Emma Janell Boltz, 86, of Keokuk, IA died Monday, April 11, 2022 at River Hills Village in Keokuk.

She was born August 19, 1935 in Stronghurst, IL the daughter of Harold James and Margaret Wade Bradrick Long.  Janell graduated from St. Patrick High School in St. Patrick, MO. 

On August 29, 1953 Janell was united in marriage to Frederick Boltz in St. Patrick, MO.  He survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Phil Boltz (Colette) of Loveland, CO and Kevin Boltz (Shane) of Burlington, IA, one daughter, Laronda Boltz of Keokuk, three grandsons, Chad Boltz, Matt Boltz (Donna) and Logan Boltz (Danielle), one granddaughter, Lakyn Boltz, two great-grandsons, Quentin Boltz and Paxton Boltz and one great-grandchild due in October.  She is also survived by three special daughters, Diane Monical, Lea Hendricks and Colleen Gredell. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Huston, Richard, Raymond and Robert Long and three sisters, Pauline Eagley, Marilyn Roach and Alice Horne.

Janell was a faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church, the American Legion and a former member of the Ladies of the Elks.

Janell loved golfing and bowling and coached youth bowling for over fifty years. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and St. Louis Cardinal fan.  Janell’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren.  She was an enthusiastic fan of all their activities and always made them a priority in their life. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, at All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk with Father Marty Goetz officiating.  Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held after 1:00 p.m., Monday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with family meeting with friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m.  A vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Arrowhead Youth Bowlers Scholarship.
