Carolyn Marie Pohlpeter, 59, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 12:41 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison. She was born on February 17, 1963 in Fort Madison, IA to Paul & Ann Schmidt Pohlpeter. She was an art therapist, day care provider and a caretaker for her mother for over 20 years. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and was an artist. She enjoyed showing her creativity through her cooking and decorating and was devoted to her family.
Carolyn is survived by her mother: Ann Pohlpeter of Fort Madison, IA; 3-sisters: Kathryn Pohlpeter of Macomb, IL, Kristine Hill of Wichita, KS & Paula Pohlpeter of Cedar Rapids, IA; 1-nephew: Alexander Hill of Wichita, KS & 1-niece: RaeAnn Hill of Kansas City, MO and several aunts, uncles & cousins. She was preceded in death by her father.
Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 with the family to receive friends from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. that evening at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A wake service will immediately follow at 6:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Ss. Mary & Joseph Church. Burial will be held in Gethsemane Cemetery.
