FORT MADISON - You'll get just a bit of everything with the Old Fort Players spring production of Crazytown.

A cast of six jumps around from newscasters at the town's K-OMG broadcast center to elementary students to women watching sports and that's just the start.

Most of the cast have some deep roots with Fort Madison's theater company including veteran Ty Clute who serves a co-director and picks up some cast spots in the variety comedy.

Richar Abel again patrols the stage in a variety of roles including an overzealous detective who has some crazy ideas about a suspect charged with being Mr. Nice Guy.

She also shows some comedy chops as an elementary student running for school president, and a peddler of a new fangled "Play Purifier", a new product available for those who would rather seen cleaned up versions of such famous plays as Glengarry Glen Ross, and Frankie and Johnny.

The craziness of Crazytown is throughout the play filtered through the zany anchors at the KOMG radio station who serves as the conductor for the evening hilarity.

James Salisbury and Oscar Bauswell pick up a multitude of roles in this production as well. He's building on three years with Old Fort Players with most recently voicing several roles in "It's a Wonderful Life".

Tedra Edwards returns to the lights of the OFP Theater for the first time since "Drinking Habits". She pulls off a pajama clad, sports watching snacker and the clumsy weather girl in addition to other roles in the nine-scene comedy.

Angela Sandford directs and other cast members include Michael Reed Randolph, Kim Albers and James Salisbury.

Two brief intermissions break up the nonsense that wraps up with the possibility of the Chicago Cubs winning the world series.

Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday May 6-7 and May 13-14 and 2 p.m. Sunday matinees on May 8 and 15. Adult tickets are $15. Senior/military/veteran tickets are $12 and students ages 5-17 are $10 per show.

The play is produced in special arrangement with Playscripts. Lead sponsors for the season are Lee County Bank and Jim Baier Ford and partners include the Fort Madison Daily Democrat and Scotts, with Connections Bank also contributing.
