DONNELLSON - Central Lee's girls soccer team has put up 15 goals this week in two wins over Wapello and Keokuk.

On Tuesday night, Addy Brumble got the hat trick with three goals scoring on all three of her shots on goal. She had five shots total and an assist.

Ellie Lake opened the scoring on an assist from Makayla Morrison's cross to the center about 18 feet out. Lake buried it in the net with less than six minutes gone in the match. Aubree Boyd scored about 71 seconds later off a corner kick. Brumble would get her first goal to put the Hawks up 3-0 outracing the defense on a deep ball.

Brumble would score again about half way through the second quarter and then slipped a nice cross pass to Halle Lampe at 21:50 remaining to put the Hawks up 5-0. Brumble would score again to set the final score at 6-0 off a pass from Morrison.

"Our defense stepped up again tonight with Josie Newton, Chyanne Davidson, Grace Hulsebus and Sophie Turner. It's so fun watching them play the ball to our midfielder and we still keep possession of the ball. Before they would just boot the ball up and we would lose possession most of the time.  The defense has definitely grown over the years and it's has shown a lot this year," said head Coach Antonio Estrada.

Bailey Schwartz had seven saves on the night. Boyd had 10 shots with seven on goal. Lake had nine shots with seven on goal.

On Monday night, Central Lee shut out Wapello 9-0 with Boyd scoring five goals on senior night in front of the Hawks fans.

Boyd had 11 shots, eight on goal on the night. Lake had 11 shots with six on goal. Brumble had eights, four on goal in the juggernaut.

"Aubree Boyd have a great game scoring five goals and one assist.   She's just go go all the time and never quits on field," Estrada said.

The Hawks dropped a 0-1 loss last week in OT to Centerville with several players dealing with injuries and illnesses.

"It was great seeing Addy Brumble out on the field today. She's been under the weather for a week.  She had a pretty solid game and was taking some good shots but couldn't find the back of the net.
Ellie Lake has been a great asset to our program since moving over to Central Lee.  She had a lot of opportunities to score but kept shooting the ball over the goal.  If we could get her to keep the ball down, she's going to be a scoring machine,' Estrada said.

"The girls are excited about this year. Go 0-8 our first year and 9-4 this year and our season isn't done yet.

The Hawks play Columbus on the 13th and then go into regional action against Washington at Central Lee next Wed. May 18 in Class 1A Region 7 action.
