Hancock County sheriff's deputies make meth arrests

DALLAS CITY - Sheriff Travis Duffy reports that on Wednesday May 11, 2022, a traffic stop led to an arrest for possession of methamphetamine.

At 1:36 AM a Sheriff’s deputy on patrol observed a black 2010 Lincoln commit a traffic violation at the intersection of US 136 and Second Street in Hamilton, IL. A check on the license plate also revealed it to be expired and suspended.

A Sheriff’s Office K9 was deployed and positively alerted on the Lincoln.

The driver, Katrina M. Scott, 32, of Hamilton, IL was found to be in possession of less than 5 grams of methamphetamine as well as a glass smoking pipe used to smoke methamphetamine.

Scott was placed under arrest and transported to the Hancock County Jail where she was lodged.

Duffy also reported that on Tuesday May 10, 2022, a traffic stop led to an arrest for possession of methamphetamine.

A Sheriff’s deputy on patrol observed a blue 2001 Chevrolet truck commit a traffic violation at the intersection of 3rd and Oak Street in Dallas City, IL.

A Sheriff’s Office K9 was deployed and positively alerted on the truck.

The driver, Robbie L. Walker, 47, of Dallas City, IL was found to be in possession of two glass smoking pipes which field tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.

Walker was placed under arrest and transported to the Hancock County Jail where he was lodged.

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
