Community lunch in Central Park planned for May 20

Fort Madison High School Jazz Band will play during the lunch hour from noon to 1 p.m.

FORT MADISON – Under the direction of David Zaccari, Director of Bands for the Fort Madison High School, the Jazz Ensemble will be performing a free outdoor concert at Central Park Pavilion, Friday, May 20th from 12-1PM.  Don’t stress over lunch options; call and order a picnic basket to be delivered to you at Central Park and explore jazz in all of its varied forms while enjoying a prepacked basket of salad, sandwich, drink and cookies.  A portion of the pre-purchased baskets will go toward new sheet music, instruments, and registration fees to band activities.

The community is invited to attend the last concert of the school year and listen to the students perform a variety of songs and styles from their playlist.

The Jazz Ensembles perform through the winter and spring seasons at the Winter Concert, All School Band Night, Awards Concert, and several Jazz Festivals.  In honor of National Streaming Day, the Jazz students welcome you to connect with family, friends and co-workers by streaming the performance with your favorite social media app.

All food trucks, restaurants or food vendors are invited to be on hand to provide a variety of lunch options.  The first two Vendors to sign up are River Rocks Bar and Grill and the 10th St. Station.  Guests can call and order pre-packed picnic baskets with beverages that will be available to them when they arrive at the park.  To select your basket options call 319.470.5984 – Dave Taylor, (10th St. Station & River Rocks Bar and Grill) or call 319.372.6985 Tuesday – Saturday 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at 10th St.  A portion of the proceeds will go to the Dept. of Music.

River Rocks Bar and Grill & 10th St. Station will sell prepacked baskets with a variety of salads, cold sandwiches, beverages, and cookies.  Orders must be received by Wednesday, May 18th to guarantee your basket and a limited number will be available at the concert for purchase.
