Fred C. Winke84, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 10:34 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at The Kensington.  He was born on January 14, 1938 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Fort Madison, IA to Leo & Albertine Walz Winke.  He graduated from Aquinas High School in 1956 and graduated from St. Ambrose University in 1960 with a degree in Philosophy.  He attended St. Bernard Seminary for two years, then taught at Notre Dame High School for two years.  In August of 1965 Fred met the love of his life, Catherine “Kitty” Hillebrand and on April 16, 1966 in Inkster, MI they were married.  He entered the family business and became co-owner of Progas in Fort Madison for 30 years, retiring in 1996.  He was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis and the Elk’s Lodge.  He enjoyed traveling and attending plays.

       Fred is survived by his wife, Kitty Winke of Fort Madison, IA; 3 daughters: Elizabeth (Scott) Kolany of Palatine, IL, Peggy (Tom) Delaney of Downers Grove, IL & Dr. Paula (Paul) Stokstad of East Lansing, MI; 1 son: Fritz (Angie) Winke of Alexandria, LA; 8 grandchildren: Amelia, Jillian, Charlie, Jack, Erika, Sonja, Andrew & Jude and 4 sisters: Carole Dolan of Grosse Pointe, MI, Mary Jane Coppage of Burlington, IA, Linda Peterschmidt of Tampa, FL & Rebecca Hall of Ainsworth, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Jim Winke.

       Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Ss. Mary & Joseph Church.  A memorial mass will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev.
