Light Up the Sky efforts underway

FORT MADISON - The weather is getting warmer and planning is underway for the 2022 Fourth of July fireworks display in Fort Madison.  This year marks the 14th year that Fort Madison Partners, the combined efforts of the Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development, Beautification Foundation and FM SIRRC, will coordinate the event.

“To say the least, we are excited to continue to offer the area’s finest fireworks show as it reflects off the mighty Mississippi!  And, yes, the fireworks will once again be shot off from Riverview Park, allowing the community to enjoy a wonderful display right on the mighty Mississippi," said Tim Gobble, Executive Director for the Fort Madison Partners.

Approximately $20,000 is needed each year just for the fireworks alone, not counting any additional event expenses.

It takes the work of many to create this spectacular celebration, and we are hopeful that you will be able to help by making a financial contribution. The fireworks display depends on this type of support, and we are asking you to make your contribution, no matter how big or small. We encourage each individual or business to please consider contributing to help make 2022’s fireworks display the best it can be.

Please send or drop off your contribution to:
Fort Madison Partners
P.O. Box 277
614 9th Street
Fort Madison, IA 52627

All contributions of $1,000 or more will be featured with a photo in the Daily Democrat and Pen City Current and a listing of all contributors will be mentioned in a final Thank You.

This year’s firework display is scheduled to take place on Monday, July 4th in Riverview Park.  There will be a rain date, should we need it, for July 5th.

Viewing will once again be available along Ave H, as the street will be closed off to vehicular traffic at that time.

Thank you in advance for your contribution and support of the 2022 Light Up The Sky This 4th of July fireworks display!
