Lorry Jean Galbreath, 63, of Springfield, IL formerly of Keokuk, passed away peacefully after her battle with lung cancer on Friday, May 27, 2022 at her home.

Lorry was born July 27, 1958 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of John and Frances Dawson Galbreath.  Lorry graduated from Keokuk High School with the class of 1976, where she was an avid softball player.  She played many years with the Keokuk Superstars. 

Lorry loved music and played the drums, often playing in groups and participating in the Battle of the Drums.  Lorry loved to travel and explore the world and was fearless wherever her journey would take her, always ready for a new challenge.  Lorry enjoyed being around family and friends and continuously shared her comedy and laughter with all.  She always left an inspirational, loving impact on all she came in contact with.  Lorry would spend endless hours with her faithful companion, her dog, Prince G.  If you saw Lorry, you saw Prince G.

Lorry is survived by three sisters, Marita Palmer of Round Rock, TX, Loretta Mapunda of Davenport, IA and Renita Galbreath Hill of Keokuk, one brother, Broc Galbreath (Shannon) of Marion, IA and her dog, Prince G.  She is also survived by two aunts, Marline Dawson Malcom of Ft. Madison, IA and Alberta Dawson Robinson of Donnellson, IA, three special godchildren, Shaila, Shekia and Tyesha Sams all of California, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, special friends, Theresa Jones, who was a sister and best friend to Lorry since seventh grade and Lonny Vance, Kathie Anderson Noel and Peggy Scott.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William Fred Galbreath.

A memorial service will be held on June 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., at New Bethel Church, 1217 Morgan St., Keokuk, IA with Pastor Debra Letcher officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the family.
