Ronald Lynn “Sharky” Shark, 71, of Keokuk, IA died Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

He was born September 2, 1950 in Keokuk, IA the son of Robert Lee and Anne Burke Shark.  Sharky graduated from Central Lee High School in Donnellson, IA with the class of 1968.

Sharky was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Keokuk.

He had been employed by several area businesses through the years, including Tri State Dairy, the Bonaparte Republic Newspaper, Raid Quarries, Southeastern Community College, Freuhauf, Siemens and Keokuk Area Hospital.  Ron also mowed over two hundred lawns each year and was the owner and operator of Sharky’s Machine Ice Cream Truck.

Sharky loved motorcycles and especially enjoyed going for motorcycle rides.  He had a generous heart who gave unselfishly to many children’s benefits in the community and was an inspiration to everyone that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Kelly Anne Shark, his grandparents, one brother-in-law, Larry Reid, his pet dove, “Dennis” and his pet potbelly pig, “Grunt”.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Dana Jurgens officiating.  Following the service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Keokuk Labor Temple.

Visitation will be held after 1:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home with family meeting with friends from 3:00-7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his name.
