Charles Richard Gaylord, 78, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022 at his home.  He was born on February 11, 1944 in Fort Madison, IA to Charles & Katherine Cecil Gaylord.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and retired from Crandon’s Paper Mill.  He enjoyed collecting HO Train sets, fishing, online gaming, cruising in his Camaro and eating at the Cottage Café and The Fort.

Charles is survived by: 1-daughter: Angela Remley of Mobile, AL; 1-step daughter: Betti-Jean Victory of Revere, MO; several grandchildren, step grandchildren, nieces, nephews; 2-brothers: Dean Gaylord & Bill (Toni) Gaylord of Fort Madison, IA and 3-sisters: Norma Bohnenkamp of Denmark, IA, Beverly (Larry) Wildrick of Jefferson City, TN & Barbara Patton of Brunswick, GA.  He was preceded in death by: his parents, 1-step son: John Chismark, 1-brother: Darrol Gaylord, 1-sister: Donetta Gaylord & 1-nephew: William Gaylord.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.  Burial will be held at Appanoose Cemetery in rural Niota, IL.  Online condolences to the Gaylord family may be left at the King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory website: www.kinglynk.com.
