Fort Madison Police Report
06/09/22 – 8:20 a.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of larceny/theft in the 1900 block of Avenue H.
06/09/22 – 2:39 p.m. – Fort Madison police cited Nicholas Lee Mehaffy, 31, of Burlington, at the intersection of 330th Avenue and Business Hwy. 61, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
06/09/22 – 2:39 p.m. – Fort Madison police cited James Lee Burk, 53, of Burlingtion, at the intersection of 330th Avenue and Business Hwy. 61, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
06/09/22 – 8:09 p.m. – Fort Madison police cited Bryan Paul McFadden, 69, of Fort Madison, in the 4800 block of Avenue O, on a charge of driving under suspension.
06/09/22 – 8:10 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of larceny/theft in the 700 block of Avenue G.

Lee County Sheriff Report
06/09/22 – 4:00 p.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies responded to a 2-vehicle accident in the 3400 block of Hwy. 218. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Scott Michael Umthun, 45, of Keokuk, was traveling southbound in the 3400 block of Hwy. 218, when he attempted to make a left turn, failing to yield to a vehicle driven by Kathy Ann Hornung, 47, of Montrose, that was traveling northbound on Hwy. 61. Hornung's vehicle struck the right rear of Umthun's vehicle. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Umthun was cited for failure to yield to a passing vehicle. No other citations were reported.
