DONNELLSON — The Des Moines Register has named the Central Lee Community School District as one of its 2022 Iowa Top Workplaces. This is the third time in four years the district has earned this recognition.
The state's largest newspaper recognized 40 employers across the state in this year's list, which is based solely on employee surveys.
“At a time when many school districts are struggling to fill key positions, Central Lee has been able to remain fully staffed. This is thanks to the outstanding culture that has been built in our district,” said Mark Hulsebus, School Board President. “One of the things we have in common with all of this year’s award winners is having a team made up of individuals who all work toward the betterment of the organization as a whole. On behalf of the board, I want to express my appreciation for everything our staff members do to make Central Lee such a special place.”
Central Lee is a rural public school system known for the wide variety of academic and co-curricular opportunities it delivers to students. The district has over 400 students open enrolled into its schools each year, and many of its staff members are Central Lee graduates. Currently, the district’s leaders—including the superintendent, principals and curriculum director—are all Central Lee graduates.
“We are incredibly proud to once again be named as one of the state’s top workplaces, as it reflects the value we place on the talented educators who serve our students and families,” said Dr. Andy Crozier, superintendent. “The success of our schools comes down to having a strong culture, with people who feel respected and empowered to prepare the next generation for the challenges and opportunities of the future. We cannot thank our teachers and staff enough for their amazing work, day in and day out.”
