LETTER TO THE EDITOR

County GOP Chair thanks voters

Posted

Dear Editor,
As the Chairman of the Lee County Republican Party of Iowa, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincerest gratitude to the public for their participation in the November 5th Election. The enthusiasm and dedication displayed by voters from all walks of life were truly inspiring, and we are honored to have had the opportunity to engage with so many passionate individuals in our fight for the Red Wave.
I am delighted to share that all our local Republican candidates emerged victorious in every race, a clear testament to the hard work and dedication of our team and the unwavering support of our community. This sweeping success underscores that the people of Lee County resonate with our vision for a brighter future, founded on the principles of limited government, individual freedom, and fiscal responsibility. We are proud to have earned the trust of the voters and are committed to fulfilling our promises to enhance the quality of life in Lee County.
To those who may not have supported our candidates, we respect your decision and appreciate your participation in the democratic process. We believe that a healthy and vibrant democracy relies on the active engagement of all citizens, and we look forward to continuing the conversation and earning your trust in the days ahead.
Once again, thank you to the people of Lee County for your involvement in the recent election. As a sign of our appreciation to the public, we will host an event on January 18th, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hidden Tower Event Center (2416 340th Street, Keokuk) to celebrate our 2024 victories and President Donald J. Trump's upcoming inauguration. We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,
James D. Creen Chairman

To quote The Princess Bride "You keep using that word(s). I don't think it means what you think it means".

Let's look at "fiscal responsibility". Cheeto Satan, Nacho Nazi, whatever you want to call him isn't even in office and he's already bellowing for the debt ceiling to be removed. Is hellbent on deporting immigrants, including legal ones. And he's gung-ho for tariffs. So he wants to inflate the US debt worse than he did the first time around, cut 1/2 of of the farm/agriculture workforce (that white folks in the U.S. won't take because its too hard and too dirty), and create a global commodity trade that will force prices up on everything from the parts we need for our vehicles to everything that has anything to do with grain.

    Moving on....

PERSONAL FREEDOMS. Let's just be honest here. By personal freedoms, you (therefore the Republicans) mean freedoms for white, cis-gender, Christian men in the U.S. because they are LITERALLY the only group of people who have not had some form of personal freedoms taken away (or will be taken away). Women have fewer rights to bodily autonomy than they did 20 years ago. And face far more instances of sexual assault and **** (because obviously when the president and MANY of his cabinet picks are rapists and sexual predators what else could we expect?) LGBQT people and their allies are in fear for their lives, their relationships, their children. Brown and Black people are facing having family members yanked away and more racist and bigoted hatred and vitriol poured down on them.

Very little of that sounds like "limited government" to me. But, hey congratulations on voting in a president who has the same morals and ethics as you. I hope you get the next 4 years you truly deserve.
