Donnellson man found guilty of sexual misconduct

On August 15, 2024, Daniel Jannusch, 39, of Donnellson was found guilty of Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree, a Class B Felony, and Incest, a Class D Felony, by a jury of his peers. Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree carries a sentence of up to 25 years with a mandatory minimum of 17 ½ years within the Iowa Department of Corrections. Incest carries a sentence of up to 5 years within the Iowa Department of Corrections. Sentencing will be held at a future date.
These charges stemmed from an investigation into the allegation that Jannusch committed sexual abuse upon a child whom he knew to be related to him on or about June 1, 2023 through and including August 28, 2023 in Donnellson, Iowa.
The West Point Police Department was the responding agency and led the investigation on the case. This matter was prosecuted by the Lee County Attorney’s Office. Jannusch will remain in custody at the Lee County Correctional Center pending sentencing.
