FORT MADISON, IOWA — On May 26, Fort Madison High School hosted “The Roxys.”
New this year, the event is intended for students who are involved in any activities and athletics at Fort Madison High School. The name, “The  Roxys,” was created in honor of our beloved mascot, Roxy the Bloodhound.
“We saw an opportunity to highlight the students who take time to work hard and represent our community in a positive way,” said Activities Director, Jeff Lamb.
“The coaches and sponsors here at Fort Madison impact our students everyday to help them succeed in various ways. This was an event to highlight both our students and staff who shine light on our district.”
Coaches and sponsors of all activities had an opportunity to nominate students who they felt were deserving of each award. Coaches and sponsors then voted on a winner for each award, choosing from those who were nominated. There were a total of 117 individual nominees and 25 group nominations. There were 20 awards given to both students, groups, teams, and staff members.
“The Roxys was an exciting night to showcase our amazing students and all they have accomplished this year,” said Dr. Erin Slater, Superintendent. “We are proud of our students and hope we can continue this tradition of honoring and recognizing their hard work and accomplishments.”
A presentation accompanied the evening, which included all nominees and winners. To view the full presentation, visit https://bit.ly/theroxys2023.
