FMMS girls wrap up year with three of four wins

FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison 8th grade girl’s basketball team wrapped up their season last week with two games. 

First against Ottumwa, the A team won 36-18.  Dayonna Davis was the leading scorer with 16.  Dynasty Bell-Washington and Mara Smith added six points each. Halle Menke scored four points while Hadley Wolfe and Avery Rump each chipped in with two. 

In the B game, Fort Madison won 46-12.  Mia Woodbury and Jaycee Fullenkamp were the leading scorers with 12 points each.  Addison Rump and Syndey McEntee pitched in with six apiece.  Avery Rump scored four points, and Megan Curtiss, Chloe Crank, and Kayreena Sterling added two points each.

On Thursday, the A team beat Burlington 25-22.  Davis,Smith and Bell-Washington shared lead scoring honors with 6 points each.   Menke added five points and Wolfe wrapped up the scoring with two  The B team lost 26-16.  Addison Rump led in scoring with six.  Maleena Bentley, Avery Rump, Fullenkamp, Crank, and McEntee each scored two points.  

The A team finished 9-3 on the season, while the B team was 6-6.
