07/25/24 – 10:50 a.m. – Fort Madison Police arrested Zahmere Devon Wilmand Virgil, 20, of Fort Madison, in the 800 block of Avenue G, on a warrant for parole violation, possession of a controlled substance, and a felony in control of a firearm. He was held at Lee County Jail.
07/25/24 – 2:05 p.m. – Fort Madison Police arrested Wade Lee Shaffer, 22, of Fort Madison in the 3400 block of Avenue O, on a warrant for parole violation.

Lee County Sheriff’s Report
07/27/24 – no time listed – Lee County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Nathan Andrew Kenneth Benstine, 31, of Keokuk, at the South Lee County Courthouse, on a warrant for failure to appear. He was taken to Lee County Jail and released after paying a fine.
07/28/24 – 4:33 p.m. – Lee County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident in the 2500 block of Hwy. 61. According to the report, a bicycle riden by Doug Alan Daughters, 50, of Montrose, was struck after turning onto Hwy. 61 in front of a vehicle driven by Alexander Russell Beach, 30, of West Point. An investigation revealed that Daughters was struck on the right hand lane. He initially refused medical treatment and began walking home until deputies found him. Daughters was transported to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center by Lee County EMS. No citations were reported.
07/28/24 – 11:19 p.m. – Lee County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Stacy Lynn Elston, 52, of Keokuk, on Argyle Road on a charge of 5th degree criminal mischief. He was held at Lee County Jail.
