Fort Madison Police Report
12/13/23 – 11:36 a.m. – Fort Madison police cited Brenda Schmidt, 39, of Argyle, in the 2800 block of Avenue K, on charges of interference with official acts.
12/13/23 – 11:47 a.m. – Fort Madison police arrested William Leroy Frantz III, 51, of Fort Madison, in the 800 block of Avenue G, on a warrant for probation violation – 2 charges of possession of controlled substance and 2 charges of possession of prescription drugs. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
12/13/23 – 4:26 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of vandalism in the 1700 block of Avenue G.
12/13/23 – 9:21 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of larceny/theft in the 1700 block of Avenue H.

Keokuk Police Report

12/10/23 – 11:23 p.m. – Keokuk police responded to a hit & run accident at North 13th and Concert Streets. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Brett Thomas Carlson, 30, of Keokuk, was sideswiped in the intersection of 13th and Concert Streets by a vehicle driven by Summer Jo Savage, 19, of Keokuk. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles suffered minor damages. Savage was cited for leaving the scene of a traffic accident.
12/14/23 – 2:32 a.m. – Keokuk police arrested Destiney Leeann Gilpin, 33, of Keokuk, in the 700 block of Exchange Street, on a warrant for failure to appear/contempt of court and a charge of driving under suspension. She was taken to Lee County Jail.

Lee County Sheriff Report
12/13/23 – 11:20 a.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident in the 2100 block of 290th Avenue. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Kaden Lee Schmitz, 20, of Fort Madison, was traveling northbound in the 2100 block of 290th Avenue, when it lost control, entered the east ditch, and overturned. No injuries or citations were reported. Schmitz's vehicle sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.
12/14/23 – 12:15 a.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 2400 block of U.S. Hwy. 61 N. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Colbin Andrew West, 20, of Fort Madison, was traveling in the 2400 block of U.S. Hwy. 61 when it swerved to miss a deer, entered a ditch, and struck a post. No injuries or citations were reported. West's vehicle sustained minor damages and was driven from the scene.
12/14/23 – 2:41 a.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies arrested Destiney Leeann Gilpin, 33, of Keokuk, at the North Lee County Courthouse, on a warrant for failure to appear/contempt of court. She was taken to Lee County Jail.
