Fort Madison Police Report
05/16/23 – 11:32 a.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a property damage accident in the 1900 block of Avenue M.
05/16/23 – 7:35 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a property damage accident in the 2300 block of Avenue L.

Lee County Sheriff Report
05/16/23 – 1:26 p.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies arrested Samuel Evon Christopher Robert McCoy, 23, of Keokuk, at the sheriff's office on warrants for failure to appear/contempt of court, 1st degree harassment, domestic assault impeding air/blood flow, and 2 warrants for violation of probation. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
05/16/23 – 8:41 p.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 27 N. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Bryanna Michele Marshall, 52, of Missouri, was traveling northbound on Hwy. 27, signaling to make a right hand turn onto 300th Street when it was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Harold Lyn Schmitz, 62, of Burlington. Marshall was transported to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Fort Madison by ambulance for suspected serious injuries. No other injuries were reported. Schmitz was cited for following too closely. Both vehicles were disabled and towed from the scene.

Fort Madison Fire & Rescue Report
05/16/23 - Fort Madison Firefighters responded to four medical calls, and one motor vehicle accident.

Those listed above are arrested on suspicion of a charge and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
