Hounds get post-season gridiron awards

Six Bloodhounds named 1st Team All-District

FORT MADISON - The 2022 Fort Madison High School post season awards were handed out Sunday night during the team's annual season banquet.

The Bloodhound's Tanner Settles, Daniel Sokolik, Hayden Segoviano, Isaac Thacher, Teague Smith, and Henry Wiseman were all named to the Class 4A District 3 1st team.

Being named to the 2nd team all-district were Aiden Boyer, Kane Williams, Mateo Lozano, Leif Boeding, and Brody Cashman.

Making the All Academic Team were Kane Williams, Xander Wellman, Teague Smith, Henry Wiseman, Cade Denning, Henry Morris, Leif Boeding, Nathan Bowen, Ben Ramatowski, Isaac Thacher, Oliver Santiago, and Aiden Benda.

Local team awards were as follows:

Stephen B. Saunders Outstanding Scholar-Athlete Award: Xander Wellman.
Coach Tom Walljasper Leadership Award: Teague Smith.
Jeff Pieper Top Defensive Lineman Award: Daniel Sokolik.
John "Pete" Peters MVP Award: Tanner Settles.
Chris Faulkner Unsung Hero Award: Cory Arnett
