HTC boys outgunned at New London

NEW LONDON - The New London Tigers put up 35 points in the third quarter enroute to 101-50 win over Holy Trinity in New London Friday night in Southeast Iowa Superconference boys action.

The Crusaders (2-8) trailed by just seven at the end of the first quarter, but New London began to pull away with a pesky full-court press through three quarters.

Connor Gehling led HTC with 18 points, while Nick Fullenkamp and Mikey DiPrima each chipped in with 10 in the loss.

The Tigers had just about doubled up the Crusaders at the end of the third leading 87-44.

Adam Sobczak, Henry Graham and Jack Malinski each had four points in the loss. Luke Hellige rounded out the scoring with a point.

HTC won the junior varsity game 66-57 with the Crusaders basically playing the same squad in the varsity game.

Hellige had 12 points in the win. Maddox Rung had 10 and Gehling had nine, while Brayton Schneider and Tate Green each had eight.

The boys host Winfield Mt. Union today at 5:30 p.m
