HTC girls take 5th at State Pom competition

Girls also get the GPA award for top GPA at 3.991.

FORT MADISON - The Holy Trinity Dance team took 5th place at the state Pom Competition last week in Des Moines.

According to coach Hannah Hoenig the teams had a truncated time frame to learn the routine, which was different from years past.

"The girls had just five weeks to learn their routine, when typically they start four months before the state contest," Hoenig said.

The competed in Class 1 and placed 5th out of 12 teams. The girls also received the competition's GPA award with an overall GPA of 3.991.

Competing for the Crusaders this year were: McKayla Schinstock, Laura Mehmert, Alexa Dingman, Kayla Box, Taegen Denning, Hannah Hoenig, Rachel Menke, Sarah Menke, Izzy Behne, and Addie Link.
