Johnson named 2nd team All-SEC

Junior makes squad as middle hitter

FORT MADISON - Fort Madison junior Taylor Johnson was named to the Southeast Conference All-Conference team this week.

Johnson joins Molly Knipe and Amy Yasenchok with all-conference honors. Knipe and Yasenchok were both given honorable mention status.

Fort Madison also put 10 players on the volleyball SEC All-Academic team.

Johnson led the Bloodhounds in kills with 149 on 465 attempts on the year, and was also tops in block with 45 which was fifth best in the conference. She was third in the conference in solo blocks with 17.

Knipe was fifth in the  conference in assists and led the Bloodhounds with 251.

Making the All-Academic team were Johnson, Knipe, Yasenchok, Alexus Beebe, Isabella Boeding, McKenna Cashman, Lauryn Helmick, Aija Jenkins, Elle Ruble, and Dalaney Walker.

Annalise Buxton, a sophomore from Burlington was named the SEC player of the year as an outside hitter.
