Kruse lands 3rd team All-State honor

Fort Madison senior is only area IGCA all-stater

FORT MADISON - Camille Kruse added an all-state honor to go with her postseason awards on Tuesday.

The Fort Madison High School senior was named a third-team Class 3A all-state selection by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.

Kruse, who shared the Southeast Conference player of the year honors and was an all-district selection by the IGCA, finished as the only Bloodhound girls basketball player to top the 1,000-point career milestone.

She started all 23 games this season, averaging 17.7 points. She led Fort Madison with 102 assists and 102 steals, and was second on the team with 133 rebounds.
 
Kruse was the only area player named to the all-state list by the IGCA.
 
SEI Superconference players honored were WACO’s Ellah Kissell (Class 1A first team), Winfield-Mount Union’s Bradie Buffington (Class 1A second team), West Burlington’s Abbey Bence (Class 2A second team), and Mediapolis’ Peyton Bush (Class 2A third team).
 
Buffington was a first-team Class 1A selection by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association, which released its all-state teams on Tuesday.
 
Kissell was a second-team pick. Bush was a 2A third-team selection.
