Marshall shines as Lady Hounds take Fairfield title

Boys come in 2nd behind junior Riley Tripp

FAIRFIELD – The Fort Madison Lady Hounds blew up Waterworks Park in Fairfield Thursday night taking 1st place in the girls' 3A/4A division with 25 points, edging Washington by 19 points.
Fort Madison claimed third through eighth place with all six runners finishing with 15 seconds of each other. Jordyn Marshall led the way with a 21:13.99, good enough for third place in the division and sixth overall.
She was followed by Ellie Hellman with a 2:15.67 (4th), McKayla Schinstock 21:18.94, Avery Rump 21:20.97, and Addison Rump at 21:25.80. Mara Smith was 6th and 8th in the division, running a 21:28.05. Ellie Huebner ran a 24:28.77 (27th).
Riley Tripp led the Fort Madison Bloodhounds for the second straight meet as the junior raced to a 18:01.75 for a 14th place overall finish and 8th place in class 3A and 4A schools at the Fairfield Invitational Thursday afternoon.
Tripp’s 8th place helped the boys to a 2nd place overall in the 3A/4A division. Peyton Lambert was 13th overall with a 18:33.62. The other scoring runers were Mason McLey 18:43.49 (16th),  Hunter Wiegand 18:48.68 (18th), and Calvin Johnson 18:56.44 (19th).
Other runners for the Hounds were Jacob Walker 19:27.63 (28th). Jacob Shottenkirk 20:09.48 (37th), and Jake Haessig 25:14.92.
