Kathryn Ann Miller, 81, of Bettendorf, IA, formerly of Kewanee, passed Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA surrounded by her family. She was born November 22, 1940 in Fort Madison, IA, the daughter of LeRoy V. and Mary (Rempe) Hillgartner. She married Robert Lee Miller on February 27, 1960 in Fort Madison, IA and he preceded her in death on September 15, 2013.

Survivors include her son, Michael J. (Trisha Gentry) Miller of Reno, NV, her daughter, Julie A. (John) Kedley of Bettendorf, IA, a brother, John L. (Maria) Hillgartner of Fort Madison, IA, her grandson, Jacob M. Kedley (Jordan Karben) of Bettendorf, IA and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Kathryn graduated from high school in Fort Madison, IA in 1958. She had worked as a bookkeeper for Ralston Purina and also had worked in the Alcove at Kewanee Hospital. She was a member of the Kewanee Historical Society, serving as treasurer for 2 years and a member of the Parnassus Book Club. Kathryn enjoyed basket weaving, needle punch, wool applique, knitting, quilting, reading, and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and cat Bella. Cremation will be accorded and memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 30 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Martin VanMeltebeck officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Private inurnment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
