Warren Raymond Schultz, 91, of Burlington, passed away early Thanksgiving morning, November 24, 2022, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice. Warren was born June 3, 1931, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Raymond W. and Mabel (Schaefer) Schultz. He married Elva Mae Riefe on July 15, 1955, in Davenport, Iowa.

He graduated from Davenport High School in 1949 and attended the University of Iowa, where he received his bachelor of arts and master’s degrees. Warren was a corporal Army engineer from 1953 to 1955. Warren taught science, then became the assistant principal and the principal of Oak Street School from 1964 to 1973. For 16 years, Warren co-owned Beckman Professional Dry Cleaners with his wife, Elva. They owned Quick-Clean Laundry coin laundry from 1982 to 1989. Warren was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, member and past president of Burlington Kiwanis Club, past director of the Southeast Iowa Antique Car Club, past president and member of the Blackhawk Auto Restorers, former director of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America, past director of the North End Boating Association, past president of the Iowa Fabric Care Association and a former director of the Upper Midwest Drycleaning Association. He was also an avid world traveler and loved to camp.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Elva Mae; two daughters, Sandra (Dirk) Miller and Linda (Kevin) Ross, both of Wever, IA; five grandchildren, Melissa (Steve) Brock, Eric (Jenna) Miller, Emily (Bob) Dunlap, Erin (James) Andries and Hannah Ross; six great-grandchildren, Lydia, Kyle, Alexander, Carson, Olivia and Luke.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The memorial graveside service for Warren will be held at 11 a.m. December 10, 2022, in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Burlington Kiwanis Club and the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
