Posted

Betty Jean Prock, 82, formerly of Fort Madison, Iowa, passed peacefully June 29, 2022, at her home in Duncanville, Texas. She was born November 21, 1939 in Elmer, Missouri to James & Ica Carter Mendenhall. She married Bill Schooling. He preceded her in death. She later married Charles Prock.

First & foremost, Betty loved being a wife and mother. Everyone else’s needs came before her own and she wouldn’t have it any other way. She loved traveling the US and spending time at the lake with her husband, Charles. Betty enjoyed crocheting beautiful dresses and hats for her prized doll collection. She also collected Betty Boop memorabilia and even once had a dog who shared the name. She was a hard worker & there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t try. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, playing cards & anything crafty but most of all, she loved to shop. Above all, she cherished her time spent with family and her beloved dog, Star.

Betty is survived by: her husband, Charles Prock, 4 daughters; Janice (Mike) Severs of Ft. Madison, IA, Sheri (Mike) Booten of Hurst, TX, Sandy (Ted) Martin of Donnellson, IA & Tammy (Trey) Price of Ft. Worth, TX; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 6-brothers and 8-sisters.

Cremation has been entrusted to Lone Star Cremation with a Celebration of Life Open House to be held at a later date.
