Betty Pfeiferling, 83, of Warsaw, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Quincy Healthcare and Senior Living in Quincy, Illinois.
Betty was born on March 8, 1940, in Pilot Grove Township, the daughter of Raymond and Edna (Roper) Pitt. On July 29, 1962, she was united in marriage to Fred Pfeiferling in Elvaston.Betty is survived by her husband Fred of Warsaw; her children Lori (Tom) Wolff of East Peoria, Illinois, and Diana Pfeiferling of Carthage and Amy (John) McKee of Mackinaw, Illinois; five grandchildren: Bridget (Clayton) Young, Elena and Clarice Wolff, and Ariel and Connor McKee; her sister Dorothy Speer of Strafford, Missouri; her sister-in-law: Janet Frey of Des Moines, Iowa; seven nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins in the Ardmore, Tennessee, and Huntsville, Alabama, areas.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jean Bentley, and her sisters-in-law Julie Smeltser and Joetta Ruffcorn.
After graduating from Hamilton High School in 1958, she was employed at Dadant and Sons as inventory clerk for five years. She joined Trinity United Methodist Church in May of 1965 and enjoyed being active there. She was the director of the Children’s Joy Choir for fifteen years and taught the little ones Sunday School Class for several years and was church secretary for nine years. Her last job was working at Walmart in the clothing departments for eighteen years, retiring in 2010. Being with her children, grandchildren and friends was her greatest joy.
Funeral services will be held at 12 pm (Noon) on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Printy Funeral Home in Warsaw, with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 am to 12 pm (Noon) directly before the service. For those unable to attend in-person, the service will be livestreamed on Betty’s obituary page at www.printyfuneralhome.com.
