LEE COUNTY – The Lee County Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to help finish off its annual Kettle Campaign within the county.
“We are in our Kettle campaign and desperately need ringers in Ft. Madison and Keokuk,” said board member Rachael Cook.
Bell ringers are active in five locations in the county, including Fareway, Hy-Vee, Farm & Home in Fort Madison, and in Keokuk Farm & Home on Friday and Saturday, and Walgreens daily.
Dana Bushong Jewelers of Fort Madison has donated several pieces of jewelry to incentivize volunteers to sign up to ring for the effort. The pieces will be prizes for drawings to those who help even for a two-hour shift.
Volunteer shifts are in two-hour increments from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Those interested in assisting the Salvation Army raise needed funds can do so at RegisterToRing.com or by calling Amanda at 319-524-1144.
There is typically one ringer per location per shift.
“Our community has always been known to step up and I have faith in them to do so now. This is crunch time,” Cook said.
